Ordering

Now, after returning to Italy, I am putting in order the memories of these three months in Japan.

I go through them somewhat randomly, making, in my mind, lists: the beds I slept in, the tatami mats I lay on, the cars I drove, the trains I traveled, the seas I swam. The baths in the onsen. The foxes encountered. The books about Japan read late.

Every now and then I write down a few of these lists to make sure they stay here.
