The Gargano coast is dotted with trabucchi. They are machines that look like something out of a comic book: they have a medieval feel. What are they used for? They are a creative way of fishing: from the trabucco two long antennas reach out into the sea to hold the bulk of the net and, with a rather sophisticated system of ropes and winches, the fishermen-rather than catching fish-pull the fish into the net.
